CIS University Internships that open doors to professional success

Internships that open doors to professional success

By Marta García de la Borbolla

CIS University is committed to helping its students find internships that align with their interests and career goals.

Each academic program at the university includes two internships, in the second and fourth academic years, which allow students to apply their knowledge in a real work environment.

Carmen Díaz de la Cebosa, coordinator of the Internship Program at the University, plays a crucial role in connecting students with exciting job opportunities.

“Those companies are sometimes stepping stones, maybe when you finish they will hire you,” stated Díaz de la Cebosa, also known by everyone at CIS University as “Kiri.”

CIS University has established more than 300 agreements with companies in various sectors, which translates into numerous employment opportunities once students graduate.

“We collaborated with a job fair called NextJob, where the best companies are,” said Kiri.

Events such as job fairs and hackathons are vital for making connections between students and employers.

Sofía Gómez, a CIS University alumna, is one of the many students who have participated in this program. She completed her internship at Century 21 R&C and through this experience, she discovered an unexpected passion for decoration and real estate.

The internship allowed Sofía to explore her passion in a hands-on environment. “I felt proud that I was doing something I really enjoyed,” she declared. However, Sofia also learned important lessons about the working world:

“I didn’t stay with the company because I think I came in at a really bad time for real estate and I was self-employed, so I had more expenses than income.” Despite the challenges, this experience served as a valuable life lesson for her.

Sofía is currently working at the oil company Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8). She highlighted the university’s help and Kiri’s collaboration with students, even after graduation:

“CIS University and Kiri have really helped me a lot in finding a job, always sending me job proposals for me to choose from, so I could have interviews.”

Kiri’s dedication to students has broadened internship prospects for many. CIS University is proud to offer opportunities that allow students to discover their passions, gain hands-on experience, and forge a path to a promising future career.
