CIS University’s First Annual Education and Sport Volleyball Tournament

The very first women’s Education and Sport Volleyball Tournament took place at Newman College on Sunday, September 10th with the support of the Volleyball Players Association. Twelve teams and approximately 150 players took part in this cordial and highly competitive athletic event.

Through this initiative, CIS University seeks to strengthen the relationship between sports and education, with the aim of propelling young athletes towards success in both athletics and academics. Our goal though our athletic programs  is to set the bar very high by providing exciting educational options and comprehensive support to student athletes.

We would like to thank Newman College for their support and collaboration. Our gratitude also goes out to the Volleyball Players Association for their help with this initiative as well as to all the clubs and individuals who have been instrumental in terms of making this a success. Finally, we want to congratulate the Collado Villalba Volleyball Club, champions of the tournament ahead of Voley Playa Madrid and Recuerdo. Special mention for Saint Louis de los Franceses and Chamartín Vergara, as champions in silver and bronze category respectively. Also thank the participation and high competitive level of CV Sanse, the two teams of CV Madrid, CV Las Rozas, CV Rivas, Newman and the girls of San Fernando de Henares. María Ampudia, from Saint Louis de los Franceses, was awarded an MVP trophy as the best player of the tournament based on voting of all participating coaches.

This event marks a significant step for our mission to support the evolution of athletics in higher education in Spain and has inspired us to continue positively impacting the lives of many student athletes, helping them to become outstanding professionals.

Congratulations to all who competed!
