Corporate communication at Telxius, the Telefonica Group

CIS University had the pleasure of welcoming Leticia Louzán, Head of Communication at Telxius, the Telefonica group, for an exclusive lecture with the students of the Communication, Marketing and Advertising majors in the Writing for the Media course, about the role that communication plays at her company. After opening the conference by describing her experience in the journalism and communication sector, the guest speaker went on to share data and personal stories about the crucial role played by the communication department within a global leader in telecommunications.

The session continued with a detailed description of what a normal day is like in the communications department of Telxius, a company focused on the installation and management of intercontinental underwater fiber optic cables designed to connect different continents digitally.

Leticia guided the students through the essential aspects of working in corporate communications within a technology-focused company, such as managing communication between the various audiences: suppliers, partners and customers, each with widely varying characteristics. She then shared practical knowledge on how to manage communications in a way that strengthens these internal collaborations and improves the company’s overall performance.

She also emphasized the importance of aligning communication strategies with business objectives, especially in industries where communication is key to connecting with and supporting other companies.
