CIS University has organized three essential internship preparation activities for this fall semester. The purpose of these events is to give students practical experience and beneficial networking possibilities.
An Escape Room with ADECCO
ADECCO, one of Spain’s leading companies in the Human Resources sector, came to our campus to do an Escape Room, designed to reveal our students’ soft and power skills. Participants worked individually and in teams to tackle challenging problems through a series of engaging activities that simulated the pressures of the professional world.
Kiri Díaz de la Cebosa, the director of the Internship Program at CIS University, described the event as “a coaching session aimed at helping each student understand themselves better through various activities.”
The Sondersland Fair: Connecting Talent with Top Companies
Students were immersed in a genuine professional setting at the Sondersland Fair, a large-scale job fair funded and located in Kinepolis Movie Theater. The fair featured a realistic first-interview simulation, interactive activities, networking meetings, and presentations from leading corporations.
“The first part featured actors simulating a first job interview or your first day at work. After that hour, students moved on to the ‘Talent Park,’ for an hour and a half, where they were able to network with many top companies. This is important because when they later have to do long-term internships, they will be more familiar with key companies they can approach,” said Díaz de la Cebosa.
The Hackathon: Tackling Practical Business Issues
Students also had the chance to work in groups and address actual business problems during CIS University’s Hackathon. Students worked with companies to generate original solutions to their problems during a scheduled session on November 15th and meticulously worked on it throughout the following week in order to develop a proposal that was later reviewed by a panel of professionals.
“The Hackathon is all about teamwork. Students have their first contact with a real company, work through the stages, define the methodology, and come up with a proposal. Winning has benefits, such as the possibility of being recruited by the companies”, adds Kiri.
The Road Ahead for CIS University Interns
CIS University’s internship programs offer students hands-on experience and chances to network and interact with some of the best-known companies in the country. These activities provide students the chance to learn about various career options and develop skills that will be vital for their future paths.
As Kiri Díaz de la Cebosa summarized: —“These experiences add value to the internship program, providing students with numerous contacts and interpersonal skills to kickstart their professional careers.”
