CIS University Elite Soccer Program Athlete Tia Danielle Theseira received a call up from the Malaysian Women’s U20 National Squad. Two weeks later, she joined the rest of the team in Malaysia for training camp and friendlies.
The team travelled to Cambodia to compete in the first round of AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers. They played two games against Cambodia and Myanmar, with a third game eventually cancelled that was meant to be against Pakistan. Against Cambodia, the Malaysian side suffered a last minute heartbreaker 1-0 defeat, and against Myanmar the lost 3-1 as well.
It was a tough, intense camp for Tia, but she was able to compete and continue her studies through it all.
