The CIS University Investment Club held one of the most notable sessions of the semester with a guest appearance by Iker Lajud, a real estate investor and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience and a solid international track record. The online conference, streamed live from Dubai, brought together a large number of students, faculty members, and club participants, who actively engaged with questions and reflections throughout the session.
Lajud, whose presentation offered an overview of his career and investment philosophy, underscored the importance of interpreting information creatively in order to turn it into real opportunities. In his own words: “Public information becomes opportunity when it is interpreted differently.”
A Leading Voice in Real Estate Investment
During the session, the guest speaker outlined his strategic, long-term, value-creation approach, one that moves away from short-term speculation and instead focuses on active management of real estate assets. This method, Lajud explained, makes it possible to “unlock hidden potential” across a variety of projects, from residential to commercial and mixed-use developments, always prioritizing adaptability and sustainable growth.
Students also had the opportunity to learn about Re-Conecta, the real estate investment platform founded by Lajud, which has become a key meeting point for industry professionals in Spain. This community promotes transparency, knowledge-sharing, and the professionalization of the real estate sector, as highlighted in the session’s presentation slides.

A Learning Experience Through Direct Contact with Industry Leaders
Thanks to this event, attendees were able to engage with an expert whose career bridges both European and Middle Eastern markets. “Today we had the chance to learn from someone who not only invests, but understands markets from the inside and the outside,” said Professor Ricardo Estellés, President of the CIS University Investment Club, at the end of the session.
Student participation was particularly noteworthy: questions about market trends, emerging opportunities, and the risks posed by automation in the industry reflected the growing interest among students in professional real estate investment.
For CIS University, initiatives like this reinforce the Investment Club’s mission: to bring students closer to the real world of finance, business strategy, and investment through direct contact with active professionals. The group photo taken at the end of the virtual session reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of the club’s members to this type of educational experience.
