At the CIS University Class of 2024 commencement ceremony, Endicott College President Dr. Steven DiSalvo received the 2024 Special Award for International University Cooperation.
This prestigious award, presented by the president of CIS University and the International Studies Foundation (ISF), Dr. María Díaz de la Cebosa, recognizes Dr. DiSalvo’s outstanding career in developing international educational alliances, promoting cultural awareness and sharing among students from different nations.
In his acceptance speech, President Dr. DiSalvo expressed his deep gratitude for the recognition, and through Peter Drucker’s famous quote, “The best way to predict the future is to create it,” he emphasized the importance of being the owners and architects of our own destinies.
“This award is a testimony to the joint effort of many people committed to creating bridges between cultures and educational systems. Together, we can prepare our students for an interconnected and ever-changing world. And if I could only give you three pieces of advice I would tell you, be bold, be humble, and the most important one, be yourselves,” concluded the president of Endicott College.
The award celebrates not only Dr. DiSalvo’s achievements in international university cooperation, but also his dedication to fostering exchange programs and academic collaborations that enrich students’ educational experience. Under his leadership, Endicott College has established multiple collaborative agreements with universities around the world, allowing students to broaden their horizons and develop a global vision.
