Professor Ricardo Estellés, Professor at CIS University and President of the CIS University Investment Club, recently introduced a new application titled “CIS University Stock Analyzer Pro,” an artificial intelligence–powered tool available exclusively to all CIS University students and faculty.
The application was initially presented during a session of the Investment Club and later formally introduced to the entire university staff. The initiative is part of the academic and practical work the club does in terms of business analysis and financial education, with a focus on investment.
A Tool Born from Academic Exploration
According to Professor Estellés, the idea behind the application is based on two fundamental concepts:
“The development of the App arose from a twofold need. On the one hand, I wanted to test the capabilities of AI; on the other, I sought to create a user-friendly, productive, and professional tool that could save time in my company analysis process. What began as an exploratory project ultimately became a product with very interesting features for an educational institution such as CIS University.”
The tool provides, in approximately 30 seconds and condensed into two pages, a structured overview of the key qualitative and quantitative factors involved in evaluating a company. It goes beyond presenting financial metrics by incorporating the company’s strategic context, management analysis, and the industry environment in which it operates.
Inspired by the Investment Principles of Buffett and Munger
To develop the model, Estellés compiled and analyzed the annual shareholder letters written by Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, historic leaders of Berkshire Hathaway and widely recognized for their investment approach grounded in rigorous business analysis and strategic discipline.
The application integrates the business evaluation principles developed by both investors over decades, translating them into a technological framework that systematizes and streamlines the analytical process.
A Tool for Learning and Debate
Beyond its technical utility, “CIS University Stock Analyzer Pro” was conceived as an academic resource. “I believe that for students and faculty, it is a tool that opens the door to debate, strategic analysis, and a deeper understanding of how markets view different sectors. Ultimately, it helps explain what market consensus values at any given time,” Estellés noted.
In keeping with the spirit of the Investment Club, the application reinforces the practical approach to financial education at CIS University, integrating technology, critical thinking, and strategic analysis into the classroom. Its incorporation as an analytical tool in Business courses is also currently under consideration.
With this initiative, the Investment Club continues to expand its activities beyond its weekly sessions, incorporating innovative models that bring students closer to the professional realities of business analysis.
