The <\/span>CIS University Investment Club<\/span><\/a> brought the semester to a close in a way that clearly reflects the true spirit of the club: an international conference with a <\/span>Bloomberg<\/span><\/a> account manager and the awarding of certificates to members who participated consistently throughout the term. Together, these two events combined practical learning and community building, marking the end of an especially active period for the club.<\/span><\/p>

Bloomberg from the Inside: A Look at Global Markets<\/h2>

Thanks to the collaboration of Professor Karyn Su\u00e1rez, the club organized an online session with <\/span>Jan F\u00f6rsterling<\/span><\/a>, Enterprise Sales Account Manager at Bloomberg London. Connecting live from the company\u2019s UK headquarters, F\u00f6rsterling offered attendees a clear and accessible overview of how one of the world\u2019s leading financial information ecosystems operates.<\/span><\/p>

During his talk, he explained the role of the Bloomberg Terminal as a key tool for finance professionals, highlighting its access to real-time data, market analysis, specialized news, and a secure communication network used by hundreds of thousands of analysts, traders, and portfolio managers worldwide. As noted in Professor Estell\u00e9s\u2019 introductory presentation, the Terminal functions as a true professional command center, not only because of the information it provides, but also due to the competitive advantage it generates.<\/span><\/p>

F\u00f6rsterling also devoted part of the session to sharing his professional experience, emphasizing the importance of finding a role that aligns with each student\u2019s personal profile. In his case, a management position has allowed him to combine analytical work with constant interaction with clients and international teams\u2014an approach that, he explained, offers a broader understanding of both financial markets and the business environment.<\/span><\/p>

In addition, he shared practical recommendations for students interested in starting a career in finance, such as the importance of mastering multiple languages, showing genuine interest in financial markets, training in professional tools like the Bloomberg Terminal, and considering certifications such as the CFA Level I. He also highlighted the educational value of internship programs, noting that an internship at Bloomberg can condense weeks of intensive learning into an experience equivalent to several months of professional exposure.<\/span><\/p>

Among the regular attendees was Professor Gabriel Ferrer, who emphasized the impact of the session beyond its technical content:<\/span><\/p>

\u201cJan\u2019s conference was not only stimulating in terms of understanding everything that can be achieved with a Bloomberg Terminal and its functionalities, but also in showing our students how a young professional with talent, bilingual training, and a clear roadmap can build a successful career in financial hubs such as London. In a globalized world, talent and education have no limits\u2014and that is one of the messages we share at CIS University.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>

End-of-Semester Recognition Event: Recognizing Commitment and Consistency\u00a0<\/h2>

The semester concluded with the awarding of certificates to members of the CIS University Investment Club, recognizing the commitment of those who have participated regularly in the club\u2019s weekly sessions. Professors and students alike received this certificate as a symbol of the effort, curiosity, and engagement that define the club\u2019s community.<\/span><\/p>

As Professor Estell\u00e9s recalled during the ceremony, the Investment Club is not only a space to learn about finance, but a community built through the exchange of ideas, continuous participation, and personal connections.<\/span><\/p>

The closing ceremony reflected the warm, approachable tone that characterizes the club and ended, as is tradition, with its shared motto: \u201cHappy investing!\u201d<\/span>
