The <\/span>Go American English<\/b><\/a> program, which is one of the programs included in <\/span>CIS University\u2019s International Studies Foundation<\/b><\/a>,<\/b> is an initiative aimed at offering young people in Madrid from economically disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to learn English and experience American culture.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p> This program, which began in 2014 under the name <\/span>\u201cAccess program\u201d<\/span><\/i> and was renamed <\/span>\u201cGo American English\u201d<\/span><\/i> in 2017, has provided education and support to students aged 14 to 16 for two years, with a new group starting every two years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Every Tuesday and Thursday, 20 students participate in classes taught by a professor from CIS University. As Nuria S\u00e1nchez, CIS University\u2019s Foundations Coordinator, explained, <\/span>\u201cthese students not only improve their English skills, but also have the chance to learn more about American culture.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p> The foundation has a clear educational mission and promotes cultural exchange between Spain and the U.S. At the end of the course, 10 outstanding students are selected to walk the <\/span>Camino de Santiago<\/b><\/a>,<\/b> sharing experiences with American students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
