Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s, this method remains popular today due to its simplicity and effectiveness.

The Italian term “pomodoro,” meaning “tomato,” was inspired by the tomato-shaped kitchen timer that Cirillo used during his study sessions, and the essence of this method focuses on time management, dividing work into intervals—traditionally 25 minutes—known as “pomodoros.”

Each study interval or pomodoro is followed by a short break, typically 5 minutes, which allows the brain to recover and maintain a high concentration level during the next interval.
