CIS University and its Foundation, ISF, to Conduct New Edition of Saint James Way Program in Spain for US and Spanish Low-income Youth

On March 22, 2023, CIS University and its foundation, International Studies Foundation (ISF), announced a new edition of their Saint James Way Program, an initiative launched in 2017 to benefit low-income youth from the US and Spain. The announcement was made at Miami’s Government Center and had the support of María Díaz de la Cebosa, President of CIS University and ISF; Raquel Regalado, Miami-Dade Commissioner and collaboration from reputable institutions such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, International Finance Bank, and the Consulate General of Spain in Miami.

ISF’s Saint James Way Program offers underprivileged youth from the US and Spain the chance to complete one of the most iconic pilgrimage routes in history.

“I can’t think of a better way to strengthen the ties between our countries than by bringing our young people together through experiences like Camino de Santiago, where culture, tradition, and direct exchange converge in a comprehensive learning process,” said María Díaz de la Cebosa, President of CIS University and ISF.

Miami-Dade Commissioner Raquel Regalado added: “This program is a great example of how private institutions, government entities, and nonprofit organizations can collaborate to create meaningful opportunities for young people in our community.”

Jaime Lacadena, General Consul of Spain in Miami, said: “The Camino de Santiago program not only promotes cultural exchange but also helps strengthen the ties between Spain and the United States. It is an honor to support this initiative and witness the positive impact it has on the lives of young participants from both countries.”

Gale S. Nelson, President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, said: “The Camino de Santiago program aligns with our mission to create positive mentoring relationships that have a lasting impact in the lives of young people. We are proud to be part of this project that makes this initiative possible.”

Roberto Gatica, Senior Vice President of International Finance Bank, stated: “Without a doubt, the investment that produces the greatest returns is the one made in education. And the education that brings the best results is that which transcends the classroom and includes comprehensive experiences like the Camino de Santiago.”
