Graduation 2016

This past Friday, the 24th, our annual CIS/Endicott graduation ceremony was held at the Instituto Internacional.  Students began to arrive at around 6:30 pm in order to properly place their cap and gowns (some with more help from us than others!).  Once everything was in place, students were photographed individually.  At 7:00 pm, the graduation ceremony officially began with professors’ and students’ entrances, led by our customary bagpiper.  Endicott College, our academic partner, had as much of a presence as ever at the ceremony.

Maria Diaz de la Cebosa, our president, as well as Dr. Richard E. Wylie, president of Endicott College both shared words with the crowd.  Francisco Ubierna, our Academic Dean gave the invocation.  Xavier Cottini was awarded the “best professor of the year” award, which he accepted with great pride, and was clearly pleased with the accomplishment.

The most entertaining speech of the evening was given by the student in representation of the entire graduating class of this year, Alberto March, who in between quips and laughter, offered a fond farewell to his counterparts and wished them the very best in their future endeavors.

Diplomas were given out, as well as certificates for our Dean’s List students.

The ceremony reached its conclusion upon graduation caps being tossed up into the air.  All recent graduates, along with their families, were invited to celebrate even further at the subsequent cocktail party which took place in the outdoor garden area at Instituto Internacional de la Calle Miguel Ángel de Madrid.

We wish all of you from the CIS class of 2016 the very best, and truly hope that you can affectionately recall your time with us here at CIS.

Congratulations class of 2016!
