Short Biography

Professor García has worked in Jonhs Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, and in several programs for international students, mainly from the United States: Fundación Ortega y Gasset-Marañón, ACCENT and CIS, all of them in Madrid, Spain. In these institutions she has taught Spanish as a Foreign Language, Literature and Linguistics, as well as Service-Learning courses based on Immigration and Human Rights in general. In addition, she belongs to the NGO Asilim, in which she has worked teaching Spanish to immigrants in La Casa Encendida (Madrid, Spain) and the Refugee Center in Alcobendas (Madrid, Spain), where she was also the academic coordinator for several years. Finally, she works as a teacher trainer in Asilim’s workshops for the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and in the Master in Applied Linguistics in the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, as well as for the online courses this university offers in coordination with the Instituto Cervantes. In recent years, she has participated in several congresses and symposia about Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.
